In the North Atlantic… The USS Reuben James, an American destroyer is sunk off the coast of Iceland by a German U-boat with the loss of 100 of the sailors on board. It is the first sinking an American warship in the undeclared war against the Germans in the Atlantic.

TODAY’S SELF-OBSERVATION
Still aching all over from a hiking expedition to Cautley Spout, England’s highest waterfall, and monster ruptured blisters on each heel! It was great to be back on the fells again, but I was painfully reminded that I had not kept myself hiking-fit.
It’s been a fab opulent October but several large expenses (optician’s, dentist, house insurance) have now somewhat focused attention. No fear or anxiety though, my development has taken me beyond that. With the fundamental disciplines of Centering, Meditation and Positive Thinking now embedded into the subconscious, I’m deeply rooted fully equipped to stand in the wind of circumstance and “enjoy the movie”
